Application
Wide grooved stair profile with rubber. These are excellent quality
anodised aluminium stair noising. This profile protects the edges
of stair steps covered with ceramic tiles, wood or laminates.
Rubber inserts consitute anti-skidding protetction .
It can be mounted by means of durable assembly glue or a brand
type. Each stair nosing come pristine in manufacture packing with
screws and is perfored.
The unquestionable advantage of these Aluminium Stair Strips is an
invisible method of mounting to the base. Screw Fix - First remove
kindly the anti-slip rubber insert - Then simply drill holes - Next
screw the screws into the stair, through the holes already present
on your stair nosing.
Feature
Extruded Aluminum Nosings are manufactured with a base container of
6061-T5 extruded aluminum filled with an abrasive mixture of
aluminum oxide and silicon blend, compacted and bonded by 100%
solid epoxy. Extrusions are designed for installation during a new
concrete pour and barrier free products are offered for
installation on sheet metal pan treads.
Manufactured in lengths up to 24′-0”, nosings are offered
cut-to-length to save on costly field labor. Stock colors are black
or yellow, with a wide range of optional colors available on
special order. If specified, factory tape is applied to the
abrasive surface to provide protection during installation.
Use
Stair-nosing profiles are resistant to most chemicals encountered
in tiled environments. In special cases, the suitability of a
proposed type of material must be verified based on the anticipated
chemical, mechanical, and/or other stresses. Exceptions and special
consider-ations are listed below.
Aluminum profiles must be tested to verify their suitability if
chemical stresses are anticipated. Cementitious materials, in
conjunction with moisture, become alkaline. Since aluminum is
sensitive to alkaline substances, exposure to the alkali (depending
on the concentration and duration of exposure) may result in
corrosion (aluminum hydroxide formation). Therefore, it is
important to remove mortar or grout residue from visible surfaces.
In addition, ensure that the profile is solidly embedded in the
setting material and that all cavities are filled to prevent the
collection of alkaline water.
